The Great Canadian Locomotives 4-Coin Set

Great Canadian Locomotives 4-Coin Set represents the Complete Collection of the Great Canadian Locomotives series, minted in 99.99% pure silver by the Royal Canadian Mint, and includes the following train engines:

Royal Hudson Locomotive
Jubilee Locomotive
Selkirk Locomotive
D-10 Locomotive

Investment Note
The Great Canadian Locomotives $20 Pure Silver Proofs each have a mintage limit of only 10,000, which is the lowest mintage ever for a Canadian $20 silver proof. This is also the same mintage limit as the 2002 Queen Mother Silver Dollar, which now trades for over $400 in the aftermarket. We believe that these will be very scarce issues that will get harder and harder for collectors to find as time goes on.

Technology Note
The Royal Canadian Mint refines the purest silver in the world. The RCM is also the only mint in the world to issue commemorative coins in a .9999 fineness. These one ounce silver coins are each 99.99% pure!

Obverse
A meticulously detailed and finely engraved depiction of each of the four famous locomotives in this series. The artistry is so subtle and intricate that the engine number of each engine can be clearly distinguished on the front of the locomotive. The traditional-style engraving has produced a magnificent work of beauty. The date and denomination are also indicated.

Reverse
Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II of England, in profile facing right. This portrait, the fourth effigy of the queen to appear on Canadian coinage, was executed by the artist Susanna Blunt. The legend ELIZABETH II D. G. REGINA ("Elizabeth II, Queen by the Grace of God") and mint mark also appear.

Edge Lettering
Each coin has a plain edge with lettering. The name of each locomotive appears on the edge.
